Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to open a new traffic exit in early August, aimed at improving traffic flow from Financial Centre Street towards Ras Al Khor Road.

The new link branches off the collector road near Bu Kadra Interchange and is a key component of RTA’s Rapid Traffic Solutions Plan, a city-wide initiative to optimise traffic movement and enhance road network efficiency.

The strategic upgrade is designed to streamline traffic in and around the Ras Al Khor area, which borders major residential, commercial, and industrial developments. By easing congestion at the Bu Kadra Interchange, the new exit significantly improves commute times. Vehicles using the collector road can now reach Ras Al Khor Road in just 6 minutes during peak hours, down from 13 minutes, a 54% reduction.

This development is part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to align Dubai’s infrastructure with the city’s rapid urban growth. The new exit follows several recent enhancements in the area. One of the most notable is the expansion of Exit 25 on Ras Al Khor Road, which connects to Al Khail Road and Al Meydan Street. The exit was widened from one lane to two over a 500-metre stretch, doubling capacity to 3,000 vehicles per hour. This upgrade has helped reduce traffic queues and cut peak travel time from 7 minutes to 4 minutes.
