Prominent U.S. scholar's lecture on Muslims in America today at Sharjah University

A prominent American Muslim scholar, Hamza Yusuf Hanson, will deliver a lecture on Muslims in America after the September 11 attacks at the American University of Sharjah today.

A prominent American Muslim scholar, Hamza Yusuf Hanson, will deliver a lecture on Muslims in America after the September 11 attacks at the American University of Sharjah today.

Hanson, who is one of the foremost American spokespersons for Islam today, was selected, along with other religious leaders, to meet U.S. President George Bush at the White House and to advise him on matters related to the U.S. response to the attacks as well as other issues regarding Muslims in America.

Hanson had also been recently invited to Rome and met with the Pope and the Italian President. He has also addressed the British House of Lords.

Since the attacks in America, he has been interviewed by numerous national and international newspapers and news magazines and has appeared on various television news programmes, including the CBS news programme "60 Minutes".

Hanson is the co-founder of the Zaytona Institute and Academy.
