Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by a heavy vehicle in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah: An Asian national on Wednesday sustained serious injuries when a heavy vehicle driven by a compatriot hit him.

The victim, 35, was taken to the hospital in a critical conditions and was admitted to the intensive care unit.

Colonel Nasser Muraddad, who heads the RAK Traffic and Licensing Department, said the Asian victim crossed the street without paying attention to the traffic flow.

The driver of the heavy vehicle was shocked to the see the man crossing the street and tried to avoid him but could not, he said.
