The functions of E-Mirsal, the electronic customs clearance service of Dubai Ports Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), were introduced to numerous IT and media-based companies in Dubai Internet City (DIC) and Dubai Media City (DMC) recently.

Customs customers who are subscribed to password-secured E-Mirsal can interact with Dubai Customs through Internet to process their clearance documents on the net, thus saving trips to customs office to complete their transactions.

Ahmed Khalaf Al Murri, senior manager of administrative services at Dubai Customs, said the training programme that was held for over 20 major IT companies earlier this week, is part of a comprehensive training scheme that aims to train not only cargo industry but also other respective economic sectors on Dubai Customs' paperless services.

Amr Abdulfattah, manager of E-Mirsal added that importers and cargo companies could apply to E-Mirsal through Internet from anywhere, anytime without a charge.

Moreover, the integrated E-Mirsal can check the validity of the first time applicant's trade licence online by accessing Dubai Economic Department's system, thus saving time for applicant.
