New book on pharmacology laws

The UAE Jurists Association has issued a new book on laws governing drug control and pharmacology.

Dr Mohammed Al Rokn, Chairman, said the book is expected to benefit judges, prosecutors, lawyers and legal consultants.

The publication includes a series of lists detailing narcotic and psychotropic substances, prohibited pills, and narcotic plants prohibited from being grown in the country.

Another table lists the maximum quantity of drugs doctors can prescribe their patients.

It also contains several chapters on the import and export of drugs, drugs trafficking, and the set of rules governing pharmacies, drug stores and factories in the UAE.

A comprehensive index renders the book user-friendly.
