Mohanlal, Mukesh bring Chayamukhi to UAE
Good Times Tourism, a leading destination management services provider in the UAE, announced that it will stage the Malayalam play, Chayamukhi in the UAE. The unique theatre presentation based on a tale in the legendary Indian epic Mahabharat will be staged in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah. The play features prominent Malayalam film actors Mohanlal and Mukesh.
The UAE marks the first international destination for Chayamukhi, which has been commended with rave reviews during its performances in India.
Chayamukhi is scheduled to be staged in Dubai on October 30, 2008, in Abu Dhabi on October 31 and in Ras Al Khaimah on November 2, 2008. The play will continue its tour of GCC countries in November.
Commenting on the staging of Chayamukhi in the UAE, Baby John, Managing Director, Good Times Tourism, said, “The play will be a visual treat for all theatre enthusiasts here. With illustrious actors such as Mohanlal and Mukesh on stage, Chayamukhi will certainly turn out to be an unforgettable experience for all of us.''
Chayamukhi uses an amalgam of elements of classical and ethnic forms in India. Mohanlal and Mukesh play the roles of Bhima and Keechaka respectively. The play also features a young and talented set of actors.
The story of Chayamukhi revolves around a mirror. Once a person sets his/her eyes on the mirror, it exhibits the image of his/her beloved one. The play won the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy Award for the Best Script in 2003.
A presentation of Kalidasa Visual Magic, Chayamukhi is directed by Prashanth Narayanan.
