Man suffers injuries as clinker falls on him

Ras Al Khaimah: A Pakistani labourer suffered serious injuries when a huge quantity of clinker (small rocks) fell on him at one of the emirate's ports.

A senior officer at the emirate's Department of Civil Defence said the 45-year-old labourer identified as A.A. was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance where he was admitted.

The officer added that the management of the port reported the case of the labourer to the Police, who instructed the emirate's Civil Defence Department to go immediately to the scene and save the life of the Pakistani national.

When the civil defence vehicles arrived on the scene, the labourer was recovered from under the rocks, was provided with first aid and later rushed to the hospital.

The Police are investigating.
