Man dies, another critical in run-over accident

Sharjah: A 46-year-old Indian man succumbed to injuries on Saturday midnight after he was hit by a vehicle on Al Ittihad Road of Sharjah. Another Indian expat, 39, is fighting for his life in Al Kuwaiti Hospital.

The accident took place at around 12.45am in the Dubai — Sharjah direction.

Police patrols and paramedics moved immediately to the scene where one was pronounced dead. The injured man was taken to Al Kuwaiti Hospital’s ICU where his condition was described to be critical.

The body of the deceased was moved to hospital while the motorist who caused the accident has been taken into police custody for questioning.
