Federal Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pramod Mahajan, who is facing allegations of being involved in the murder of Indian Express journalist Shivani Bhatnagar, says he is ready to face any inquiry from any investigative agency.
But if the media or family members of the prime accused Ravi Kant Sharma, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, want to grill him, their questions should be substantiated, he told mediapersons at a press conference in the city.
He is here to attend the Bharatiya Janata Party's state convention.
For someone who is at the "receiving end", he says, "In my life I have never committed a crime, not even a small one. I have no objection if those who are investigating the murder, that is the Delhi Police, want to question me. I have no objection to a lie-detector or a DNA test.
"But the point is that the test has to be carried out on the child too. The father of the child who is bringing her up is not saying anything."
He felt that these "wild allegations" are being made against him to divert attention from the actual murder.
Asked if all this was planned against senior BJP leaders, he said he did not think so.
