His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has donated Dh4 million to the Al Ain football club, winners of the Asian Champions League.
This generous initiative is in line with Sheikh Khalifa's endeavours to support athletes in various sports in the country and continue to honour teams which win championships and other achievements at the local and international levels.
In addition, Sheikh Khalifa has launched a series of initiatives which are aimed at encouraging athletes to exert further efforts so as to achieve more success in the field.
The Al Ain Club's administration and their players have expressed their gratitude to Sheikh Khalifa for his generous donation.
Meanwhile, Al Ain Club announced that they have bought all the tickets for the matches to be held at the Sheikh Khalifa Stadium which is hosting the competition of group E to be distributed free to the fans to encourage them to attend the matches.
The group features Saudi Arabia, Republic of Ireland, Mexico and Ivory Coast. The matches kick off on November 29 when Saudi Arabia meets Ireland at 17:45 followed by the Mexico vs Ivory Coast encounter at 20:30.
The Abu Dhabi LOC has handed over the grounds at Zayed Sports City, Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium of the Al Jazira Club and Al Nahyan Stadium at Al Wahda Club which will host the opening and closing ceremonies in addition to the matches of both groups A and F.
