Sharjah: The second Souq Al Jubail Ramadan Festival is offering entertainment and Emirati flavours every Thursday and Friday.

The festival at the fresh produce market, a project of Sharjah Asset Management, features entertainment such as face painting, jugglers, balloon benders, stilt walkers and mascots, as well as Emirati folk performances, workshops and colouring activities from 7.30am to 12pm.

The festival hosts folk performances by fishermen, shedding light on traditional fishing practices from the past and connecting the young generation to the heritage of their forefathers.

Moreover, from 5pm to 11pm daily, two live cooking stations are run by Emirati ladies from the community, who provide traditional treats for visitors. These enterprising ladies have been registered under the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation.

The festival is being run in conjunction with Sharjah Palm Date Festival, which will continue until the August 31, with the participation of a number of Emirati palm date brands.
