Students from Islamia English School in Abu Dhabi turned in a fine performance at the GCE (General Certificate of Education) Ordinary Level examination of London University, with three pupils securing straight A grades in five subjects attempted.
Muhammad Nasim, the school's Principal, said yesterday that 106 students - 50 boys and 56 girls - had appeared for the exam in January. Seventy-nine per cent of the candidates secured A to C grades.
The three straight A pupils were Mohammad Farhan Aftab, Sanober Khalid Palijo and Saema Saeed.
Mohammed Zakaria Taleb, Mirza Muhammad Imran Baig, Hammad Javed, Sadaf Khalid Palijo, Ghazala Nazir and Wafa Qaisar secured 'A' grades in four subjects.
Umar Aziz Choudhry, Jehanzaib Islam, Mohammad Ali Naheed Dalvi, Haris Khan, Omniyah, Abir Kehkeshan Alam, Tasnuba Mir, Shahrin Emdad Rayna, Farhana Mostafa Kiron, Hira Binth Naseer and Sadia Khan scored As in three subjects.
