Islam advocates tolerance, condemns terrorism

The UAE underlined yesterday that Isam prohibits and denounces all forms and manifestations of terrorism.

A Friday sermon, prepared by the Ministry of Justice, islamic Affairs and Awqaf and read out by imams across the country's mosques, said that Islam advocates brotherhood, tolerance and love and is absolutely against attacking and killing of innocent people.

Citing verses of the Holy Quran on Islam's perspective of terrorism, prayer leaders stressed Islam and Muslims are against terrorist acts like those sustained by American people on Tuesday because such acts were against injunctions of Islam which taught tolerance and denounce hatred and treachery.

Terrorism has no place in Islam and Islamic society and history of Muslims is replete with bright examples of forgiveness, even at times of war," the sermon said.
