UAE ministry bans fat-free flavored Trim milk

Dubai: The Ministry of Environment and Water banned the entry and distribution of the fat-free, mint and lemon flavored Trim milk.

Obaid Al Matroushi, acting Director General of the ministry, has issued an administrative order banning the entry of the product.

The ban comes after close examination of the food label that alleges that Tonalin helps keep the body healthy by getting rid of fat and its production.

The manufacturer is also marketing the product in the UAE market without obtaining a license from the concerned authorities.

The ministry has contacted the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority and municipalities to recall the product from the market until the reasons behind are addressed.
