John Hopkins to manage two public hospitals in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Johns Hopkins Medicine International will manage Al Rahba Hospital following an agreement with the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) on Wednesday.

Johns Hopkins has been managing Tawam Hospital in Al Ain since March 2006.

Dr Ahmad Mubarak Al Mazroui, Chairman of SEHA, signed the agreement with Edward Miller, Dean of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

SEHA, meaning health in Arabic, is an independent, public company launched in December 2007 to manage and develop activities in public hospitals and clinics in Abu Dhabi.

SEHA currently manages eight hospital systems totaling 14 facilities, 2,472 licensed beds, more than 55 Primary Health Clinics and 14,350 employees.
