GCC officials review workers’ health schemes

Discussions centre on labour markets of 11 countries in South East Asia and Africa

Dubai: The 14th meeting of the GCC overseas programme committee dealing with expatriate workers was held in Dubai during the first week of October.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that the programme accords utmost importance to workers’ health.

Discussions during the meeting mainly pertained to clinical laboratory and radiological tests in the prevention of infectious diseases or public health threats.

The GCC overseas programme committee mainly oversees the affairs of workers from 11 countries in South East Asia and Africa.

The first phase of the electronic link programme between health centres in labour-exporting countries was discussed as also the introduction of the second phase of a biometric database scheme.
