Diabetes education forum held in Dubai

Dubai: To help people affected by diabetes and their families better understand the disease and its complications, Dubai Health Authority (DHA) held a diabetes education forum.

The one-day event at the Rashid Medical Library discussed topics including blood glucose monitoring, diet and nutrition as well as exercise recommendations and feet and eye care to prevent podiatry and renal complications.

The centre plans to hold its next meeting shortly and will discuss precautionary measures for diabetics who fast during the month of Ramadan. The forum is aimed at Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes patients and their family members.
