I limit my consumption of saturated fats. At home, we eat egg whites every day but the egg yolks only twice a week. My main fear is obesity. My body structure does not allow me to consume a lot of fats, which might lead to weight gain. I avoid trans fats in the form of processed foods, but it is sometimes unavoidable.

Saturated fats can cause inflammation of the nerves, which could lead to complications. So, I limit my consumption of saturated fats even though I’ve heard that they are good for the bones. We’re an egg white family, and I eat egg yolk once a week. With respect to trans fats, my family avoids processed foods. However, if you are healthy, you can eat anything in moderation.

Saturated fats consumed in moderation are good for us, as they provide vitamins A, E and D. They also grease joints and provide us with energy. For those who lead sedentary lifestyles, we do not need as much saturated fats. Growing children and pregnant women need more saturated fats in their diets. However, I do limit my intake of trans fats because it does no good.

It is essential to consume fats in moderation, because our organs need it for daily activities. If not, our body goes into starvation mode. In my opinion, essential fatty acids are required in our diet to regulate our metabolism. With respect to trans fats, anything that is not natural will cause our body to react, and excess trans fats deposit on our arteries.
