Green apples at core of health initiative

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police Clinics have started giving out green apples to patients and visitors in a unique initiative aimed at promoting the health benefits of fresh and seasonal fruits.

Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director-General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police, said that the police leadership strives for the best and most beneficial outcomes. It keeps close tabs on the latest results of international medical research and recently confirmed that green apples are an important source of energy and contain polyphenols that increase fat-burning.

He said that the intention of police clinics was to provide customers with large quantities of locally produced seasonal fruits, which can help prevent diseases as well as other benefits.
