UAE rulers underscore nation's achievements

'Federation places national interest above all'

Sharjah/Ajman/Umm Al Quwain/Fujairah: Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the emirates congratulated the nation on the 38th UAE national day and highlighted the various achievements the country has achieved under the federation.

His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, hailed the power of determination that created the UAE and made it an exemplary model for penetrating vision, self-renunciation and placing of the national interest above all.

Shaikh Sultan said the Union is not just a word we utter or propagate through the media, but it is an exceptional situation that combines the love for the nation's soil and the sincere vision of its leadership with the strong will to challenge and work.

This is a special situation that paved way for the creation of a powerful nation, where every citizen lives in welfare. This should inspire every citizen, whichever role he occupies, to work with determination for bringing the best for him and his family.

He should become an efficient element in his society, not with ringing words, but with deeds, thus participating in the creation of a more glorious future that his country will be proud of, said Shaikh Sultan.

Most successful

His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, said the UAE federation experience is one of the most successful experiences in the region.

He said that the country has overcome the difficulties, challenges and emerged vigorous to attain prosperity. "The UAE started by developing human resources, being genuine resource for the country. Then followed with the cultural, economic and political development", Shaikh Hamad added.

"The record of history boasts the UAE achievements under Shaikh Zayed, founder of the UAE, may God have mercy on him. This legacy was sustained and continued by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, who followed the course of Shaikh Zayed steadily to preserve and attain further achievements to provide welfare to the citizens of the UAE."

The Zayed leadership was one of the most important pillars on which the Union was based.

Through that leadership miracle and feat "the United Arab Emirates" was born.

His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, said the UAE became exception in modern Arab history as the most successful case and the most cohesive, homogeneous and stable country.

In his statement to the Nation Shield magazine, he added that the UAE, during the three decades, became a modern and prosperous state, where citizens enjoy prosperity and security.

"Following the declaration of union, our country became exception in modern Arab history as the most successful case and the most cohesive, homogeneous and stable country.

The rulers of the emirates have always felt their need for unity, which has opened the door to unprecedented strides in all areas, notably, good management of the wealth and resources.

"The UAE has contributed in the development of many Arab countries whether through grants or financial assistance, or participation of the UAE Companies in major investment projects in those countries with huge capitals." His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, said the remarkable achievements made by the UAE have secured the country an exalted position among the world countries.

In a message given to the Dira Al Watan (Nation Shield) magazine on the occasion of the 38th National Day, Shaikh Saud said the leadership of Shaikh Khalifa has instilled peace and confidence in the hearts of people to continue the march heralded by Shaikh Zayed.

"It is the fifth year after the departing of the founder of our young nation, our union and our pioneering renaissance Shaikh Zayed. Even though his physical presence is not with us today, his sacred soul is and will remain among us, making us feel that he is among us always whenever we see the achievements of our nation," Shaikh Saud said.
