Dubai: Shaikh Ahmad Bin Hasher Al Maktoum made history when he became the first UAE athlete to win an Olympic medal in Athens, Greece, on August 17, 2004. He captured the gold in the men's double trap shooting with an Olympic record-equalling effort.
Shaikh Ahmad scored 189 points that eluded him in the single trap when he finished a close fourth and equalled the Olympic record set by Australian Mark Russell in 1996.
