Palestinian envoy thanks UAE for donation to construct embassy

Abu Dhabi: Palestinian Ambassador Khairy Al Oraidi has expressed deep appreciation to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his kind gesture of donating Dh8 million to finance the construction of the Palestinian embassy in Abu Dhabi.

Al Oraidi conveyed profound gratitude and deep appreciation on behalf of the Palestinian leadership and people to the UAE President and people for the gesture which, he said, is "a true reflection of their support to the Palestinians and their just cause at all levels".

He added that the Palestinian people will remember with gratitude the noble stance of UAE leaders, government and people.

It is worth noting that the building of the new premises of the Palestinian embassy had been initiated in the embassy area at the beginning of this year. The building was being funded through donations from members of the Palestinian community in the UAE and abroad.

The new premises lies on a four-acre area consisting of the embassy building and the Jerusalem hall, which is a multi-purpose structure, in addition to the residence of the ambassador.
