Khalifa named Humanitarian Personality of the Year

Dubai: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been named the Shaikh Rashid Award's Humanitarian Personality of the Year.

This was announced by Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group and Board Chairman of the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre, during a press conference in Le Meridien hotel yesterday.

Shaikh Ahmad said: "The Shaikh Rashid Humanitarian Personality Award is a landmark to honour prominent personalities with rich contributions to the charitable and humanitarian work in the Arab and Islamic world.

"It is my honour to announce the naming of Shaikh Khalifa for the Shaikh Rashid Humanitarian Personality Award for 2010-11 as nominated by international, Arab, and Islamic humanitarian and charity organisations and institutions."
