Abu Dhabi: The Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) has shut down a pharmacy for one month and gave warnings to ten others for selling banned medicine and drugs without prescription.

A doctor was suspended for issuing fitness certificate without examining the patient. "HAAD's inspection team has undergone diverse trainings to detect loopholes in the health establishments. So far, I am delighted with the cooperation we have got from the private health sector in their commitment to abide by HAAD regulations and policies," said Zaid Al Siksek, Director of Health Policy and Regulation, HAAD.

Adeeb Al Zaabi, Manager, Facility Licensing and Inspection Department at HAAD, said: "Our inspection team will continue to go on surprise visits to hospitals, pharmacies and clinics all through the day."
