Hamdan and Maktoum hailed on accession day

Dubai: Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, congratulated Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai on the first anniversary of their accession.

He expressed his gratitude and happiness at the trust bestowed by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in young leaders to play an important role in the ongoing march of progress in the UAE and Dubai in particular.

"As we celebrate this occasion, which stands as evidence of the wise vision of Shaikh Mohammad, we recall a year of achievements that prove that both Shaikh Hamdan and Shaikh Maktoum deserve this great trust and responsibility," Shaikh Majid said.

He said the appointment of Shaikh Hamdan and Shaikh Maktoum in their posts represented a turning point in the history of Dubai.

"Inspired by Shaikh Mohammad who has never known the word impossible and knows how to challenge difficulties, the vision for Dubai has no limits," Shaikh Majid said.

He voiced his appreciation to Shaikh Mohammad who pays great attention to the young generation and gives them a chance to be armed with knowledge to further lead the nation towards a brighter future.

He said Shaikh Mohammad's decree on February 1 marked the beginning of a new era and spread an atmosphere of optimism to boost Dubai's leading position and its quest to go international. Since the appointments of Shaikh Hamdan and Shaikh Maktoum, Dubai has continued with its notable progress and enterprising stance.

As an accomplished endurance rider, Shaikh Hamdan is the European Open champion and has won four team gold medals at the European Open championships. He is also an invididual winner of the European Open and won a team gold at the Asian Games in Doha.

Shaikh Hamdan also won a team gold at the Pan-Arab championship and has won numerous international endurance rides in the UAE, the region and in Europe.

In his capacity as Crown Prince, Shaikh Hamdan has endorsed significant rules govering the safety of schoolchildren on school buses and has also announced significant rules in his capacity as Chairman of Dubai Executive Council.

In his capacity as Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Maktoum inaugurated the new DIFC LCIA Arbitration Centre and also launched the new logo of the E-university of Dubai.
