Dubai Customs to allow duty-free goods for disabled

Customs’ decision to allow duty-free goods for people with disabilities is in line with Vice President’s initiative

Dubai: Dubai Customs has announced that it will allow the duty-free import of a range of items for people with disabilities, under the terms of the Cabinet decision in implementation of the initiative of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The decision is aimed at easing their burdens. The Customs said that it will allow the duty-free importation of eight types of goods (including educational material, medical instruments, mobility vehicles and ancillary equipment), which are necessary for people with special needs.

Ahmad Mahboob Musabih, Director-General of Dubai Customs, said Shaikh Mohammad’s initiative to allow duty-free goods for people with disabilities reflects the extent of his keenness to provide the best levels of care for all.
