Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired a cabinet meeting yesterday.

The cabinet reviewed various issues on the agenda and ratified the agreements signed with a number of countries, in the presence of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister.

It also approved the organisational structure of several ministries and appointments at the federal ministries and institutions.

The cabinet discussed a proposed system to manage the performance of federal governance.

The system will measure the performance of each ministry in implementing the federal strategy of governance. It will also focus on ensuring the satisfaction of customers who deal with various federal government departments, and provide the best services.

The system will also monitor the adherence of federal institutions to their respective financial plans and transactions, and will make it imperative for each federal entity to follow up the implementation of stipulations in the federal strategy and to evolve plans to guarantee quality and results, while maintaining accountability and transparency.

The cabinet approved the appointment of Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimi as Assistant to Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs and Saif Sultan Al Aryani as Undersecretary of the Foreign ministry.

The cabinet approved setting up of diplomatic missions in Argentina and Greece. It also ratified the deals signed with Azerbaijan in security cooperation, and with Uzbekistan on encouraging investments.

Board: Investment authority

The cabinet approved the appointment of the chairman and members of the board of directors of the UAE Investment Authority, with Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, as chairman, Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State for Cabinet affairs, as deputy Chairman, and Khadem Al Qubaisi, Saud Ba Alawi, Abdul Hamid Saeed, Hashim Al Dabl and Eisa Al Suwaidi as directors.
