Abu Dhabi: More than 450 candidates will contest the Federal National Council (FNC) elections - an intense competition with one candidate for every 15 voters on average.
Sharjah topped the final list with 101 candidates registered to take part in the elections, scheduled for December 16, 18 and 20. Abu Dhabi came a close second with 100 candidates, it was announced yesterday.
The final candidate list includes 65 women.
The National Election Committee (NEC) said it did not receive any challenges against candidates.
The election management Committee (EMC) held a voting centre simulation at the Abu Dhabi Municipality to train and develop the skills of staff members.
