Fujairah has joined the telemedicine league, which allows local surgeons to learn from and share experiences with colleagues from around the globe.
This coincides with the introduction of live telemedicine for teaching links with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow at Fujairah Hospital starting last week.
Dr Subash C. Gautam, head of Surgical Department and Telemed-icine Coordinator at Fujairah Hospital, told Gulf News that the 11-week programme started on February 7 allowing local physicians and surgeons to attend a lecture at Al Badri Auditorium in Fujairah Hospital, which is linked to the lecture hall at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow.
"This high-tech medical facility, which has been made possible with the support of the Ministry of Health, would enhance our physicians and surgeons' surgical performances and skills and cope with the technologies used worldwide in carrying out successful surgeries," said Dr Gautam.
