Four-wheel drive catches fire in Umm Al Quwain

Umm Al Quwain: A four-wheel-drive vehicle went up in flames in Umm Al Quwain on Friday.

The Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence operations room received a call at 2pm reporting the car catching fire in the old industrial area of the emirate.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire that gutted the engine of the black SUV.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and quickly put out the flames with foam. Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence shared the video of the incident.

Authorities have stepped up awareness campaigns directed at motorists to prevent vehicles from catching fire.
