Fire destroys warehouses in Sharjah

Sharjah: Fire ravaged a warehouse in Sharjah’s industrial area on Wednesday,  Lieutenant Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqabi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence, said.

Lt. Col. Al Naqabi said that the fire broke out around 2pm in Industrial Area 5.

Firefighters from Sharjah headquarters, Muwailh, Samnan and Al Mina worked to control the blaze.

"We immediately took the necessary measures in the neighbourhood in order to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent warehouses," Lt. Col. Al Naqabi said.

The cause of fire is under investigation. There were no reports of casualties.
