Fire destroys Umm Al Quwain tyre factory

No one was injured as the fire; building and surrounding areas evacuated

Umm Al Quwain: A fire broke out in a tyre factory in the Umm Al Thuoob industrial area in Umm Al Quwain on Thursday afternoon.

No one was injured in the blaze, which started at about 5.30pm, but the factory was destroyed, said a spokesman for Civil Defence.

The building and surrounding areas were evacuated.

Firefighters are currently working to contain the blaze.
