Dh10m tonnes of CO2 savings projected by 2025
Abu Dhabi: One of the projects among the many initiatives of Abu Dhabi Government to minimise the carbon footprint will save billions of dirhams in the coming years, a senior official said.
Several initiatives are being designed and implemented to reduce the demand for electricity and water, Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, Secretary General of Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD), said in an interview.
For example, The Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi is developing a Comprehensive Cooling Plan to reduce the projected energy consumption in buildings between now and 2025, with an estimated savings of more than Dh30 billion over this period, she said. In addition this initiative will result in a reduction of over 10 million tonnes of CO2 and reductions in other greenhouse gas emissions, Razan said.
