Dubai: The entries for the Arab Journalism Award have risen by 13 per cent this year, and 339 per cent since its launch, Dubai Press Club announced.
Just days after the closing date for participation in the 9th edition of the Arab Journalism Award, Dubai Press Club reported increased enthusiasm in the prize.
Mariam Bin Fahd, Executive Director, Dubai Press Club, said the figures available confirmed the validity and appropriateness of the new structure of the award programme.
"The extent of participation in the newly introduced ‘young journalist' category proved how important it was. More than 3,500 entries from 19 Arab countries have been nominated this year," she said.
