Sharjah: A fatal accident on Monday evening claimed the lives of three Emirati boys, aged 13 to 15, in Sharjah.

The boys were en route to a relative’s house for iftar when the driver, a 13-year-old, lost control of the car on Kalba Road.

Authorities believe the driver was speeding when the vehicle veered off the road, flipped over, and caught fire. The boys were trapped inside the car. The Sharjah Police Operations Room received an emergency call at around 6:45pm, just as Iftar time began. Despite the quick response from emergency teams, two of the boys were pronounced dead at the scene. They were later transported to the hospital for further examination.

The third boy, who had been critically injured, succumbed to his injuries several hours later at the hospital. Bodies were later handed over to families for burial in the Kalba cemetery.

The police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Underage Driving

The incident has reignited concerns about the risks of underage driving. UAE authorities have long warned parents about the dangers of allowing minors to drive without a valid license, urging a strong adherence to traffic laws and safety precautions.
