Students 'relieved' after second day of final exams

Dubai: Grade 12 pupils following the national curriculum were pleased by their second day of finals saying the history examination was straightforward.

"I am really relieved today with the history final. I was a bit nervous this morning as I didn't do well yesterday in my physics exam," said Rashid Khalifa, a grade 12 pupil at a public school.

Mohammad Hassan, principal of Mohammad Bin Rashid Public School, said that this semester he was "very pleased" with the organisation of the finals adding that many pupils were satisfied with their performance and with the new examination timing.

Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, said that the reports of the advisors in the examination department proved the success and efficiency of the examination and assessment system that was updated by the ministry two years ago.

Beginning with grade 12, the report assured the positive interaction of students with the new system that aims to raise the standards of students.

The Ministry of Education prepared various studies, reports and projects to encourage students towards independent learning and skill development. All Grade 12 examination papers coincide with the development of the curriculum, students' skills and their understanding rather than memorisation.

Rashid Salem Lakhraibani, Director-General of the Ministry, announced there was accurate follow-up of the students' examinations in cooperation with the education zones, councils and schools.

"The questions were clear, precise and direct. We encourage students to be calm when writing their answers and wish them all the best," he said.
