Reema Saffarini reports from Al Ain on UAE University's career fair

UAE University students had a chance to meet more than 40 employers from the public and private sector at the university's Fifth Training and Employment Week held recently in Al Ain. The four-day event was open to students and the public.

"One of the main goals of this exhibition is to open the door for students to learn more about the corporate world and provide better opportunities for face-to-face interviews and direct employment," said Ali Abdullah Majid, assistant dean of students.

For students undecided about their career path, the exhibition helps them gain a better understanding of various industries.

Following the inauguration of the exhibition, Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of the university, said: "This exhibition supports the move towards emiratisation and connects the public and private sector with higher education institutions."

Unlike previous years, this year the fair's organising committee will follow up with the participating companies for six months to evaluate a student's employment process.

Notes was at the exhibition and spoke to students.
