Abu Dhabi: The Arab Youth Venture Foundation's (AYVF's) seminar and forum created for the Petroleum Institute's (PI's) Summer Achievers' Programme included many activities for its young participants - male and female Emirati teenagers aged 14 to 16.
The recent seminars covered the building of robots and programming for special missions, simulations such as air traffic control and the MarsBound! project created by Nasa in which teams of students were given the task of designing a spacecraft. These activities marked the start of the institute's six-week programme, now in its fourth year.
Lisa LaBonté, CEO of AYVF said: "The seminar and forum conducted by AYVF met with very positive reception and the talents and enthusiasm of the teenage participants [was] quite impressive. PI's summer programme for youth is commendable and we believe it will [have a] positive impact on these young minds as they contemplate their future careers."
