Trio jailed for kidnapping countryman

Dubai: Three Bangladeshi men have been jailed for three years each after a court convicted them of kidnapping their compatriot and threatening to kill him if he did not pay a Dh6,000 ransom.

Presiding Judge Hamad Abdul Latif Abdul Jawad, who pronounced yesterday's judgment, said the three accused, 26-year-old MT, 27-year-old KS and 30-year-old DM, will be deported after serving their punishments.
