Three held in Sharjah over fake currency

Sharjah: Three Asian men have been arrested for producing and attempting to sell counterfeit Kuwaiti notes.

The Criminal Investigation Department at Sharjah Police said that during the raid police seized the counterfeit money at their home as well as a number of valuable items.

Police received a tip-off about the activities of the Pakistani suspects, who admitted during preliminary investigations that they had been producing fake money with the intention of selling it for small amounts of cash in shopping centres.

The case has been transferred to the public prosecutor.
