Seven women confess to working as prostitutes

Dubai: Seven female visitors are standing trial for working in the sex industry under the command of two unemployed men who were charged of running a brothel in Al Mutainah.

The Chinese women confessed to the charge of working as prostitutes and asked the Dubai Court of First Instance to deport them back to their country.

Meanwhile, the Chinese men, 24-year-old J.P. and 28-year-old W.Z., pleaded innocent and denied running a brothel, as charged by the Public Prosecution. A police team raided the fully furnished flat, which was reportedly being run as a prostitution den, and arrested all the suspects.

Policeman testifies

An Emirati police corporal, who was among the raid team, testified: "We asked the watchman to knock the door before we stormed into the place, though J.P. tried to block the doorway. The women, who hid on the balcony, wore appealing clothes."

The police team seized cash in various currencies. A verdict will be issued soon.
