Ras Al Khaimah A woman has dropped a case against her husband and her mother-in-law after they agreed to settle their dispute that arose from a business rivalry that has gone awry.

The Ras Al Khaimah Misdemeanour Court has ordered the case closed after the court mediated and helped find a solution to the Egyptian couple's differences, a judicial official said.

Court records showed that the woman, who runs an abaya shop, filed a complaint before the Ras Al Khaimah Police after her husband allegedly berated her for copying the designs of the apparel available in his mother's shop.

The mother-in-law apparently accused her son's wife of "stealing and taking clients from their shop by talking to them and convincing them that she had beautiful designs of abayas.''

Her son, who works in his mother's shop, went on to confront his wife and started shouting at her.

This prompted the wife to file a complaint before the police.

The police, meanwhile, have transferred the case to prosecutors to complete the necessary legal procedures.
