Nurse jumps from fifth-floor balcony in Sharjah

Sharjah: A woman died on the spot after she jumped from the balcony of her fifth floor apartment in Sharjah's Al Rolla area.

According to residents, the woman, an Indian national, was married with two children, and used to work as a nurse in a hospital in Dubai.

The incident happened at around 1:25pm on Wednesday afternoon.

The watchman of the building heard a lound thud and immediately rushed to the scene and saw the 45-year-old woman lying in a pool of blood.

The watchman called police and the body was taken to a hospital.

The woman was alone at the time as her husband was at work and the two children were in school. Police are investigating the case.
