Man gets life sentence for letting friend rape his wife

Ajman: The Ajman Criminal Court has sentenced two men to life imprisonment for conspiring to rape an Emirati housewife.

The two, which includes the victim's husband, will also get 80 lashes for consuming alcohol.

The victim went hysterical after the court's verdict was read as she shouted that the defendants deserve the capital punishment.

The victim, who has three children from a previous marriage, said she will appeal the criminal court's verdict.

The victim was raped by a 26-year-old Pakistani in their living room while her husband, a 28-year-old Yemeni, watched.

Court records said the husband and his friend were in the couple's house in Al Mushairef area where they consumed alcohol.

Later, the husband went to their bedroom and asked his wife to have sex with him.

The victim refused as her daughter was sound asleep in their bed and told him to wait for some time.

Death threat

The husband then pulled his wife from their bed.

The commotion woke up the child who was told to stay in bed as the husband dragged his wife towards the living room where the Pakistani was waiting.

The husband then ordered his wife to have sex with his friend and threatened to kill her if she refused. The wife cried and begged her husband to let her go.

She told her husband that Allah will either punish her if she agrees to his demand or he will be punished for forcing her to do so.

The husband then gave his friend the green signal to abuse his wife.

Struggle

The husband lit up a cigarette as he watched his wife getting violated.

The victim told the judge that she wished to die as she struggled against the Pakistani defendant for two hours.

After hearing the victim's testimony, the defendant's lawyer decided to withdraw from the case.

The court was told that the couple had been married for four years and they used to fight over the husband's alcohol drinking and returning home late at night.
