Man fatally stabs another in Abu Dhabi courtroom

Abu Dhabi:  A man has been arrested for fatally stabbing another in a courtroom. Police later discovered that he had killed another man in the city on the same day.

The Arab suspect, an expert in martial arts, appeared in court with the victim with regard to a compensation case. The court adjourned the case after the victim insisted on compensation from the suspect.

The suspect, who was granted bail, then attacked the victim by stabbing him several times. The victim fled the courtroom, but the suspect chased him and continued stabbing him till two court employees managed to overpower him.

Investigations into another murder in the city linked the suspect to the crime following his arrest.

Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, ordered that the two employees of Al Dhafra Court be honoured for their courage in controlling the suspect.
