Dubai: A person attempting to smuggle heroin through Dubai airport has been arrested, according to police officials.

The suspect (M.H) arrived from Faisalabad, en route to Kuala Lumpur, when M.H. caught the attention of security staff at the airport.

The General Department for Combating Narcotics had received a tip-off about a suspect trying to smuggle heroine in a handbag and was therefore on the look out.

Two plastic bags, tied with duct tape were found inside the handbag, which contained 3.240 grammes of heroine.
