Ras Al Khaimah: Two Arab men working in a commercial firm in Ras Al Khaimah have been fined Dh1.75 million for hiring 34 illegal workers for the company.

The Ras Al Khaimah Naturalisation and Residency Court also fined the 34 illegal workers between Dh700 and Dh3,500. They will be deported.

The case first came to light at the start of July when the 34 illegal workers were arrested after authorities in Ras Al Khaimah received a tip-off. The company’s manager was out the country at the time, an official said.

The case has been transferred to the Attorney General to complete the rest of the necessary legal procedures, including the competent court, which pronounced its ruling.
