Sponsor sounded alert after noticing employee’s absence from work
Fujairah: Police have launched a search for suspects after an engineer was found dead in suspicious circumstances in his room in Dibba.
The crime came to light when the victim’s sponsor contacted police saying he had not turned up for work for two days, Brigadier Mohammad Ahmad Bin Ganem Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, told Gulf News.
The victim, identified as M.Sh.M, in his twenties, worked for a construction company in the emirate.
A police team checked at the engineer’s accommodation, located 3 km from his workplace. They found the man lying dead in a pool of blood.
Initial investigations suggested the engineer had met a violent death.
The victim had been dead for 48 hours, Brigadier Al Kaabi said.
The body was transferred to the forensic laboratory for an autopsy.
Police are continuing investigations into the case.
