Dubai: Former Nigerian state governor James Ibori has been arrested by Dubai Police upon receiving a red notice arrest warrant from Interpol.

A police source confirmed Ibori's arrest.

The warrant request from the United Kingdom states that the suspect is wanted for money laundering as well as other crimes. He was arrested on Wednesday evening at a five-star hotel and the case was referred to the public prosecution. He will be free on bail till the prosecution receives his extradition file.
