Dubai: Dubai Courts Department (DCD) started sharing its expertise in executing judgements on a worldwide platform after becoming the first regional court to join the International Union of Judicial Officers (IUJO).

Being the first court across the Gulf region to join IUJO during the 21st International Congress of Judicial Officers is a step that will influence DCD's performance through adopting and sharing best practices in terms of execution of judgements, DCD's Director General Dr Ahmad Bin Hazeem said.

"Such a step allows us to share best practices in terms of executing judgements which is the most significant challenge that any court in the world faces. IUJO brings in different systems [execution of judgements] by the private sector and court or public sector. It is an opportunity for us at DCD to see and learn and share thoughts and practices in that regard," Dr Bin Hazeem told Gulf News yesterday.

DCD joined IUJO during the three-day 21st International Congress of Judicial Officers at Cape Town in South Africa earlier this month.
